Freeze Dried Icecream is fragile. It may break during the freeze drying process, packing and/or shipping and this is considered part of the process and product. We will not refund or replace this product due to any breakage of the dried icecream.
This is a bundle of 3 Freeze Dried Paddlepops - Rainbow, Chocolate and Banana.
This icecream loses approximately 50% of its original weight in the freeze drying process. Approximate weight is 60g for the three.
Packaged in a zip lock pouch for added freshness.
As it can take up to 36 hours to freeze dry between 2-4kg of products, quantities are limited and there may be a wait on products or they may be sold out for some time if demand is high. We also freeze dry fruit for our own chocolates so production is limited for other items.
Keep out of direct sunlight and keep sealed, once opened, to keep the freeze-dried freshness. If they are left to absorb moisture, they will lose their crunchiness or the form they freeze dry into.
Bag size and weight varies from item to item. Freeze dried items do lose weight from their original form and this can be from 10% to 80% depending on the food and water content.
Freeze Dried products are very fragile, resulting in possible breakages during transport which we are unable to refund for.
About Freeze Drying
Freeze drying food changes the structure, texture and flavour intensity of most foods. With lollies, there can be an exciting additional transformation in the size or structure of some lollies. We have hand picked lollies that we thought were so delicious and had such a good texture, that you would love them too.
Freeze drying changes the structure of a food by removing all water content. It is the process of freezing foods then drying them under a vacuum so the moisture content changes directly from a solid to a gaseous form and skipping the liquid state food would normally go through when thawing.
Freeze dried food maintains its original size and shape with a minimum of cell rupture and preserves the food. With some products, it can have an extra reaction of increasing the size of the product. This makes for some interesting and exciting results.
Note: Texture varies between different types of freeze dried foods. These are different to freeze dried fruit.
Our Goal is to get our chocolates to you Not Melted and Not Broken and we are really good at it with 17+ years of experience behind us.
We package all chocolate orders in specially made thermal boxes with bubble wrap. Icepacks are recommended for chocolate orders to ensure your order arrives in excellent condition. This option will appear at Checkout.
We only use Express courier services which are mostly overnight but may take longer. Orders will generally only be dispatched Monday through Wednesday to avoid any risk of your package sitting in the depot over the weekend. Freeze Dried Orders and some local orders will be despatched Monday through Thursday.
In hot or extreme weather conditions (eg. floods/fires) we will hold your order until such time we believe it can be safely shipped to you. This hot weather could be at our end or your end so please don’t assume if it is cold at the destination, we will definitely send it immediately (particularly in summer). We don’t hold orders unnecessarily and if your order is urgent, please email us so we can add extra thermal packaging if required.
Each order will receive tracking notifications so you can make sure you're home to collect it.
We really need your assistance to make sure your order is accepted in optimal condition so please track it at your end and make sure you are at home when it is due to arrive – if you’re at work, perhaps use that address instead and please let your recipient know it is coming (we love surprises too but not when it’s a melted chocolate order surprise because it sat on the doorstep or something).
Make sure you check your order as soon as it arrives and if the box happens to feel a bit warm, put is straight in the fridge to get it cooled for a while before opening – just in case.
